Dismantling Racism in the Food System; An Ongoing Discussion

On Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in the Screening Room of the Martin Luther King Jr, Center for Nonviolent Social Change, we co-hosted a lecture by Eric Holt-Gimenez of Food First, which was followed by facilitated discussion with Eugene Cooke.

This discussion was one step in an ongoing series of events to strengthen ties, address oppression, and foster understanding and collaboration in Atlanta's local food movement.

It was standing room only! Close to one hundred people came to participate in a conversation on the process of building a just, holistic food system.

Support for this discussion came from many folks in Atlanta, including Food Well Alliance, Community Farmers Markets, and The Black Heritage Museum & Cultural Center, Inc.
